ohio women -David Hostetler Art Scarf

Don’t miss this opportunity to purchase this exquisite limited edition art scarf!

The limited edition WIP/Hostetler Art Scarf was recently debuted at the 2011 Women in Philanthropy OHIO Women Making a Difference Conference.

A creative Ohio University team collaborated to design this scarf. The images are sculptures by Professor Emeritus of Art David Hostetler, MFA ‘49, and students Melissa Brettell, BA ‘10, and Renee Granados, BFA ‘11, under the direction of Professor of Art Don Adleta, BFA ‘75, did the graphic design. Lyntha Eiler, BFA ’69, photographed the Hostetler sculptures. The production of the scarf was orchestrated by Molly Doyle, BSHE ’79, of Cejon Accessories, Inc. Women in Philanthropy (WIP) member, Debbie Phillips Bower, AB ’73, initiated and guided the project.

Proceeds from this beautiful silk 16” x 72” scarf depicting David Hostetler’s sculptures will benefit Ohio University’s Women in Philanthropy (WIP) allowing the organization to continue providing financial support for Ohio University’s students, faculty, activities, and facilities

His life’s work is the feminine form in exotic and Native American hardwoods and translated into bronze sculptures and paintings.

He is represented by E.S. Lawrence Gallery in Aspen, CO and Circle Gallery in Columbus, OH, and with his wife, Susan (who was instrumental in this scarf project), owns a gallery in Nantucket, MA. His work appears in more than 25 museums, including the DeCordova Museum (Lincoln, MA), Grounds for Sculpture (Hamilton, NJ), and the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston, MA).
